
The ERTC tax credit can be applied for retroactively for business owner's 2020 and 2021 tax years. While PPP Forgiveable loan funding for Independent Contractors has been given away, ERTC is the business owner version for employers who have had 5 to 500 employees. While initially the rules were more stringent when ERTC was first created, changes in the rules now allow more businesses to apply who didn't previously qualify.

As with any program, there will always be people looking to take advantage of the various financial programs or try to scam the system to make money. Make sure that you follow the guidelines to first see if you actually qualify for the ERTC Tax Credit.
